Originally titled, “The Dead Leaves”

Many jazz instructors use jazz standard “Autumn Leaves” as an opportunity for their students to learn harmony. The song, from French-Hungarian composer Joseph Kosma, is just comprised of ii-V and ii-V-I in its chord progressions.
This song, whose literal French title is “The Dead Leaves,” has received covers from Edith Pilaf and Iggy Pop.
